Chapter Nineteen: Mother's Day Weekend!

I was able to get a few things done on my To Do list. One of those items was to start working on cleaning out our laundry room which has became a huge messy storage area. My husband plans to work on it and make a much more oraganized storage area along with a walk in closet which I'm excited about.
I was able to go through every single box and get rid of a bunch of things we don't need. I noticed I was becoming a pack rat and hung on to anything I thought I might use one day. If I wasn't using it now, it got tossed. It was hard to do but with the baby on the way, I was able to get rid of a lot.
I also was able to get a few things for out baby shower. It's always best to have someone else throw the shower for you but you don't have to miss out on all the fun. Our theme is Vintage Cars, since Dad is a Mechanic and loves cars and I love anything vintage.
My cousin Ashley is throwing us the shower and her and I went out searching for ideas. At Hobby lobby we managed to find 4 "fake" old signs that were neat and a huge metal 'K' for my baby boy. I can't wait to use all of the things for his room as well.
I love Hobby Lobby! I also hate Hobby Lobby because it has a few things that are very cheaply made but way over priced. So instead of spending $100 on cheap items, Ashley and I decided to get creative. Were on the search for actual vintage items to place on the tables and are even making our own "oil cans". Kind of like these in the picture below.
On Sunday May 10th 2015:
I was able to celebrate my first Mother's Day!!!!!!!!
I was able to be super lazy that morning and even took a nap which was amazing! Around 1:00 I finally got up and got ready to go eat Mr. Gatti's Pizza with my Mother and we went to Orange Leaf for dessert which is our weakness. They were giving out free 8 oz for mothers, of course we had to join in.
Then my husband and I spent the rest of the day with my mother in law, sister in law, and 3 nieces and nephew. I always love being around my favorite babies and they are getting so excited for their baby cousin to be here. I tried to get Kambryn to kick for them but he was being stubborn.
Over all it was a wonderful day and I am so blessed to have such amazing family and friends. I hope everyone else was able to enjoy their Mother's Day as well. 😊
