Chapter Fifteen: Half way there! 20 weeks Pregnant.

11:05 AM

It is hard to believe that I have made it half way through my pregnancy. I must say, it went by pretty fast but during it, it felt like normal speed. I thought I'd never get to feel my son but now I feel him kick and wiggle all the time.

I don't want to be one of those women who wish away their pregnancy. I actually enjoy being pregnant so much and I'm sure I'll be sad and maybe even depressed not having my son bouncing around inside my belly. Thinking about him being in my arms makes me even more excited and I can't wait to see what he is going to look like.

Today we had our 20 week doctor visit with a high risk specialist in Lexington. My husband and I were both nervous and prayed for good news. During our visit we not only got an ultrasound but they checked for any abnormalities. Clubbed foot runs on Wes' side of the family and our youngest niece has it as well. Bless her heart, she's still dealing with the struggles of her deformity but she is one of the most bravest and kind- hearted little girls I know.

Thankfully our baby boy (which we found out was for sure a little boy) is as healthy as can be. His brain looked good and had no signs of Down syndrome, his facial features looked beautiful and perfect. His legs and arms were long and moving around. When she checked his feet we saw that there was nothing abnormal with them. I heard Wes exhale a breath of air when she told us.

The ultra sound tech was super sweet and explained everything she was looking for and we even saw his organs, which were all functioning properly. Besides the fact that my baby boy was perfect, my favorite part was getting our first glimps of his beautiful face. The 4D image wasn't perfect because he is stubborn like Mom and Dad both but it was enough for us to get a hint of what he will look like.

I think he is going to have my chin and lips but his nose looks just like his daddy's. It's hard to tell but I was so happy to see a face and I fell so in love! I'm so happy our visit was filled with great news and a memorable experience.
So amazing!

How Far Along: 20 weeks
Weight Gain: My start weight was 134lbs and I was up and down the first 14 weeks of my pregnancy. Today I weighted 141 lbs and was told that my son weighted around 12 ounces.
Stretch Marks: Thankfully I do not have any so far.
Maternity Clothes: Like I've said before, my jeans are starting to get really tight around my hips and lower abdomin. I think it is time to break out my leggings and possibly go dress shopping soon.
Sleep: I used to get up and goto the restroom at least 2 times a night but now I sleep soundly a full 8 hours which is very nice.
Best Moment This Week: Of course it was getting to see my son again and finding out everything about him is perfect and healthy.
Worst Moment This Week: If I go a long while without eating, I become super tired. I experienced this today and I really could use a nap 😴.
Miss Anything: Sweet Tea like something awful! I'll treat myself to a few sips but I pretty much stay on a caffeine free diet.
Movement: Oh my goodness yes! My son is very active but I also stubborn. Everytime his daddy or anyone else touches my stomach he stops kicking and of course as soon as they move their hand he goes back to kicking. Such a silly boy.
Cravings: Sweet Tea! Lemonade, Fruit Smoothies, ice cream, salas ,
Queasy or Sick: None :)
Have You Started To Show Yet:  Oh yes I actually am starting to look pregnant now!
Gender: Boy
Belly Button In or Out: In
Wedding Rings On or Off: On
Happy or Moody Most of the Time: Happy and Tired
Looking Forward To: Getting everything ready for my baby boy's room.
